A mini biography of Fred deluca :-
Frederick Adrian "Fred" deluca was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1947, lived in public housing in the Bronx, then moved to Schenectady and ultimately to Bridgeport, Connecticut. From humble beginnings, he grew the largest quick-service restaurant chain in the number of units subway has close to 4500 locations worldwide.

From Pete's super submarine to subway :-
The story begins from 1965 when Fred DeLuca opened a sandwich shop at the age of 17, in fact, Fred never thought of becoming a businessman.He had to become a good doctor but he did not have money to study for a doctor. In view of these difficult circumstances, Fred's family friend Peter advised him to open a shop, by giving him 1000 dollar,Fred thinking about to invested this money to open a restaurant that can provide healthy and low price fast food With this thought, on 28 August 1965, Peter Super Submarine sandwich store was opened, which was renamed to Pet's Subway in a few days.

* However, after a few days when he realised Business, he came to know that there was a lot of loss, but in spite of this, he opened another restaurant instead of giving up. Although, this restaurant was not lost in losses, but it was a profit, that was the value of 6 dollar.

* Then in year 1968, he opened his third restaurant, named Subway, so Fred and Peter always had a passion for learning something new and with these dedication, they kept moving forward. For the first time, this restaurant earned $ 1000 and then Fred and Peter started opening its franchise, Then the subway also got tremendous support from the people, seeing Fred had opened 100 stores by 1978 and by 1987 it had grown to 1000.
Subway's first store opened in India in 2001 but today 591 Subway stores have opened in 68 cities.

The Subway Brand :- 
The Subway brand has proven to be remarkably adaptive to local and foreign markets. While Fred was frequently quoted as not wanting to modify the Subway offering as it entered new markets, it did evolve locally. It introduced Kosher locations starting with Cleveland and developed vegan restaurants that do not serve beef or pork in India.

It also modified its products based on local consumer demand, offering gluten-free bread and brownies, developed reduced salt and fat to meet consumer trends in international markets, and has removed some ingredients used in its products including the food additive azodicarbonamide. It also recently announced that it will be moving to proteins that are raised without antibiotics.

Prior to his death,  But in 2015, Fred died of a disease called Leukemia and now his sister Suzanne Greco is the President and CEO of the company.
